We are excited to share that the Board of Directors of Covenant House Illinois have announced Susan Reyna-Guerrero, LCSW has been named the organization's new Executive Director
Susan is a seasoned administrator and leader with more than 30 years of social service experience, all of which have been spent in the Chicago community. Prior to joining Covenant House Illinois, Susan worked as Director of Program at Children’s Place Association. In this role, Susan was responsible for the operations of the organization’s domestic programs, including the Early Learning Center, Family & Community Services, Foster & Adoptive Care and the Residential Center. She spent 16 years of her career at Beacon Therapeutic Diagnostic and Treatment Center where she serves as Chief Executive Officer. Susan has dedicated her career to focusing on helping to systematically advance the issues surrounding homelessness, and its resulting impact on children’s mental health, physical health and overall well-being.
Mark Hennessy, Covenant House Illinois Board Chair and Chair of the Search Committee, shared the Board’s excitement. “The CHIL Board is delighted to have a new leader that shares our passion for ending youth homelessness in Chicago. Susan brings significant personal expertise as well as valuable experience working within the community to make innovative and measureable progress improving the lives of those she serves.”
